KOSTAL Group is a German family business that has been developing for hundreds of years. EDS Interior has designed a new office for them in Shanghai.
As a leader in the field of auto parts, KOSTAL expected to have a functional design that presents an exquisite, yet fun, office experience that allows the work to rejuvenate itself in a new way.
Light and shadows are equally important in office design. EDS highlighted this core design principle to improve employees’ experience.
Behind the reception is an open staircase, an informal meeting area that can be used for small gatherings or events, breaks, and other daily spontaneous activities. The overall use of blue and wood texture perfectly balances the space.
The reception area, open stairs, and meeting space are flexibly connected to each other. Circular borders have a sense of playfulness in the area, reducing the monotony of the space.
The structure of the multi-functional hall is correct, set in a round shape, using suction panels as walls, and setting up glass windows in one place, using indoor light to shape the space, so that the lines of the space are simple and orderly, and the product is small.
The blue plus the neutralization of the floor and gray carpets give a pure and comfortable feeling.
The tea room is decorated with bright red, which looks like vibrant tones, adding dynamic colors to the entire space. The color seems to disappear suddenly, thus improving the visual contrast of the area.
