Newton Medical (Neo Derm Group), established in 1997, is now one of the top medical beauty groups in Hong Kong.
EDS planned the conceptual design of the front hall area on the 18th floor of Tower Two of Shanghai World Trade Center, as well as the entire project design and construction.
To showcase the corporate culture of Newton Medical in the overall design and construction, EDS abandoned the sense of distance that medical institutions have always given people, and aims to convey a space where professionalism and comfort coexist harmoniously.
From the entrance, curved shapes are used around the ceiling, wall, and front desk. This design technique is used to minimize the straight-line rigidity of the space. The soft curve is like a woman's body with curvilinear elements. Highlighting spatial characteristics to tell a story of a graceful woman, makes the space more "persuasive".
In terms of lighting, instead of using homogeneous direct illumination, natural light and other indirect methods through light strips are used. These are equipped with light changes capability to ease the tension of users and give them a sense of peace.
In terms of overall color matching, the entire space is covered with low-purity warm colors, eliminating the dysphoric elements carried by high-saturated colors, and the space composed of uniform colors also gives a clean and tidy impression. This is what Newton Medical Center wants to convey to the clients. The professional perspective makes the clients more trust and peace of mind.
The leisure display area at the front desk has neutral gray and gentle pink furniture to neutralize the space. This pleasant approach provides relaxing colors that reduce the distant feeling between doctors and patients.
